Sarkar Raj' will be premiered at IIFA a few days before its commercial release on June 6.
According to Ram Gopal Verma the movie is not a sequel to Sarkar nor it;s story is inspired from the Thackeray family of Mumbai.

The story of Sarkar Raj is how Aishwarya who plays strong businesswomen comes up with a business proposal for Nagare family. Abhishek likes the plan and is hell bound to complete it at any cost.
The only problem with her proposal is the senior Bachchan who is totally opposed to the plan that requires unsettling some villagers. The story revolves how the main lead of the film goes about achieving their task.
