China has requested the Dalai Lama to support and back Beijing Olympics. In a statement release by Chinese government, it has asked the spiritual leader to support Beijing Olympics. The Chinese government has in the past blame the Dalai for Tibetan violence that left several people killed and injured.

There was mass protest against the Chinese government for the violence in Tibet. Several countries and celebrities have requested the world to boycott the Beijing Olympics due to Chinese policy against the Tibetan.
