Khandala is one of the best hill stations in Maharashtra. Khandala is almost 60 KM from Mumbai and almost same distance from Pune. The best mode of traveling to Khandala is by Express highway. You will love driving on 8 Lane expressways. The place was made famous by the popular Hindi song ‘Aati Ka Kya Khandala?” from the movie Ghulam by Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee.

The best time to visit Khandala is during the monsoon season. You will love the climate and greenery during the rainy season. If you are planning to stay there please make sure that you book your hotel/room in advance, because during peak time you will find it very difficult to get good accommodation.

The Bushi dam is the hot tourist spot. But be careful when you visit Bushi dam. There is a huge crowd during the weekend. So make sure you go there in a group. Also take some extra cloth/jackets with you when visiting Bushi dam. Other good spot is the TIGER point. This point is just 3 KM away from Bushi dam. From this point you get good view of Khandala and its surroundings.  You can also visit AMBY valley if you wish. But for that you need to take permission from them before going there,. They don’t allow visitors without permission.

And yes don’t forget to do some Chikki shopping. Khandala is known for its delicious Chikki. You get varieties of Chikki like mango, almonds, peanuts, cashew nuts, chocolate etc.

Have a nice time.
